Vascular Medicine & Surgery

Overview

Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute's vascular department includes physicians trained and experienced in treating the full spectrum of vascular diseases. Our goal is to provide patients a single place to go for the evaluation, treatment and prevention of peripheral arterial and venous problems. Treated conditions range from peripheral vascular disease to varicose veins. The Heineman Vascular Center at Carolinas Medical Center is the flagship facility for vascular services, with vascular medicine services offered at a number of our regional office locations providing patients throughout the Carolinas access to care. Vein Clinics are located at Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute offices in both Concord and Pineville offering advanced treatment of varicose veins and related conditions.

The vascular department also includes a team of vascular surgeons who specialize in procedures that treat the arteries which carry oxygenated blood from the heart to all areas of the body, as well as veins that return blood to the heart. Our skilled team of surgeons also performs a wide variety of minimally invasive procedures. The vascular surgery team works collaboratively with general cardiologists, and cardiologists from all subspecialties to deliver an integrated approach to patient care. These same surgeons are committed to continually studying and evaluating new methods of surgical treatment and improving surgical outcomes through research.
