ICD Support Group
The ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator)
Support Group is a support group for ICD recipients, their
families and friends in the greater Charlotte area. Sponsored by The
Sanger Clinic, The Carolinas Heart Institute and the major ICD device
manufacturers, the ICD Support Group offers a forum for education
and a network for support.
The group meets every other month at varied locations at no cost to
participants. Meetings feature interactive lectures on topics that are
of interest to those with ICDs. Topics such as "Traveling with an ICD", "Your
ICD and How It Works" and "Intimacy and Your ICD" have been presented
at past meetings. The opportunity for meeting and talking with other
ICD recipients is also provided.
