Free Vascular Screening Event.

This is a two night event.

Tuesday, October 13; 6pm – 7.30pm

Location: Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute Lobby, 1001 Blythe Blvd, Suite 300, Charlotte

There will be a 1 hour 30 minute educational seminar given by physicians of the Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute. The seminar will highlight risk factors for vascular disease and offer a detailed explanation of the test. You will be selecting your appointment time for the following evening. Refreshments will be served. Parking will be validated

Wednesday, October 14; (per your appointment time)

Location: Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute, 1001 Blythe Blvd, Suite 300, Charlotte

Our free ultrasound vascular testing will be done in the Heineman Vascular Center, 4th floor, Carolinas Medical Center. Dare to C.A.R.E. signs will direct you. Your test results will be given to you by a physician of the Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute, and a copy will be sent to your primary physician. This screening will only be available to those who participate in the Monday evening seminar, have registered and meet the criteria listed below. Your appointment will be approximately 30 minutes. Parking will be validated.

Criteria and Risk Factors: If you are over 60 years of age or if you are age 50 or over and have one or more of the following: Positive history of diabetes, smoking, positive family history, high blood presure or high cholesterol, you meet the criteria for a free vascular screening. this examination is a non-invasive ultrasound exam of the carotid arteries in the neck, the aorta in the abdomen and an evaluation of the circulation in your legs. You will also receive a blood pressure check.

Early Detection is the Key! Cardiovascular disease is the #1 health problem in this country today. More than half of all Americans will die from complications of atherosclerosis, the root of cardiovascular disease. If you are: age 60 or over; or age 50 or over and have one or more of the following: positive family history, hypertension, diabetes or smoking, you qualify for a free vascular screening. This examination is a non-invasive ultrasound exam of the carotid arteries in the neck, the aorta in the abdomen and an evaluation of the circulation in your legs.
