Through compassionate patient care, innovative
medical procedures and a strong sense of community,
Sanger Clinic has built a reputation of trust
and stability. For more than 60 years, Sanger
has always put patients first, maintained clinical
excellence and sought to improve care through
research, system enhancement, innovation and
continuing education.
Sanger is taking a leadership role in
the national grassroots movement to create
healthier communities. Healthy Families, Healthy Communities is a collaborative
effort of more than forty-five neighborhoods and twenty-five agencies
to help improve the physical and mental health of underserved communities.
In Charlotte, we have partnered with Carolinas Medical Center, Biddle
Point Community Health Center, Mecklenburg County Health Department,
local churches, and neighborhood residents in the Healthy Communities
initiative. Working collaboratively, these groups provide information
and screening opportunities to those without ready access to the health
care system and then open medical channels for both initial and follow-up
care.
Sanger has never denied specialized services
to anyone because of financial reasons. We
remain available for the indigent, and don't
discriminate between private and charity service
patients. We also participate in Medicare and
Medicaid programs.
To continue our tradition of serving the needs
of all, Sanger also works to expand education,
prevention, and treatment activities in women's
cardiovascular medicine. Women are at the highest
risk for cardiovascular problems, but are also
the least likely to seek medical treatment.
Sanger Clinic and Carolinas Healthcare
System have joined forces to unite women who
have survived a cardiac event with women striving
to prevent similar experiences. Through education, sharing of information
and encouragement, all participants are empowered with the knowledge
required to begin or maintain a heart healthy lifestyle. Heart of a
Woman offers free seminars that help educate women about heart disease.
Our physicians, dieticians, exercise physiologists and survivors discuss
various topics including understanding heart disease, risk factors
plus how to improve eating and exercising habits.
Sanger Clinic is a member of the Carolinas Heart
Emergency Network, an affiliation of twenty-eight
hospitals in North and South Carolina dedicated to working together
to fight heart disease. Jointly sponsored by the Carolinas Heart Institute
and Sanger Clinic, the Carolinas Heart Emergency Network provides continuing
education programs, purchasing agreements and marketing programs for
participating hospitals and physicians.
Sanger Clinic is proud to be an active and responsible
member of all the communities we practice in.
