Multidisciplinary Cardiovascular Disease
Conference
The Multidisciplinary
Cardiovascular Disease Conference was established
to give physicians and clinical staff a unique
avenue to come together to discuss various
cardiovascular disease cases. This teleconference
is jointly hosted by The Sanger Clinic, P.A.
and Carolinas Healthcare System. The target
audience consists of cardiologists, thoracic
and vascular surgeons, internal medicine, family practice,
urgent care, physicians in residency, physician
assistants, nurse practitioners, registered
nurses, echo technicians and nuclear technicians.
The educational methods consist of lectures, case presentations and
journal clubs. The learning objectives or purpose
of the group is to provide a consistent format
to update the physicians and physician extenders
on the innovative changes and advances in the field
of cardiovascular disease, as well as understand
the diagnosis and management of complex clinical
cardiovascular cases that are present in a variety
of clinical settings.
The Sanger Clinic, P.A. encourages guideline implementation at the
clinician level. Clinical leaders design educational
activities that have leadership support, use multiple
strategies and teaching techniques, and engage
participants in skill building and problem solving.
Sanger practitioners are consistently obtaining
information to stay abreast of new technology and
practice standards of cardiovascular disease,
which in turn leads to better patient care.
The Carolinas Healthcare System designates this continuing medical
education activity for a maximum of 1 credit in
Category 1 of the Physician's Recognition Award
of the American Medical Association.
